The Playgroup Committee
In April 1999 Dacre Banks Pre-School Playgroup was registered as a charity and is now managed by a committee of trustees (“Management Committee”) who are enthusiastic and committed to the continuation of Playgroup’s success and achievements. Playgroup is also registered with OFSTED and receives Government funding through North Yorkshire Early Years Partnership for eligible children.
The Management Committee is responsible for matters such as staffing, fund raising and financial management. Marsha Barrett and Sarah Graham, our joint Play leaders, are responsible for the day to day running of the playgroup and quality of the educational provision it provides.
The Management Committee meets regularly and we welcome suggestions from all parents and carers on how we can improve our service.
Who is on the committee?
I am enthusiastic to be part of a team that not only ensures a successful, productive Playgroup but a happy one too!
I have 2 daughters, Lauren (5) who is now at Dacre Braithwaite school and Martha (3) who is in her final year at playgroup.
Prior to having Martha, I spent the last 14 years working in HR and Training, latterly as a Global Trainer for a US company.
Clare Jackson
Having a financial services background I help playgroup mainly with finances and invoicing but am happy to do whatever I can to help!
Jo Parkin
I am married to Jonathan and we have gorgeous twin girls Lizzie and Connie, who are 3. I work part time at the hospital in Harrogate as a Sister and Bed Manager. As a family we enjoy walking, swimming and socialising. I am a very enthusiastic person and am looking forward to the fundraising aspect of being a committee member.

I have experience in legislation and auditing, so help out mostly with Health & Safety and other compliance issues.
I also have another little boy Dan, who attended playgroup for two very happy years but left this year to start school.
Lesley Hugill
I was a primary school teacher for 13 years but am currently enjoying being a full time mum,
I live in West End and used to be a Neurosurgical Nurse but left when my son was 7 to help my husband with his building company.
